INTRODUCTION
The Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at Shu-Te University was founded in 2000, with the enrollment of 120 students every year. The objective is to nurture excellent technicians of information engineering who attach equal importance to theory and practice in order to meet the needs of the industry. The curriculum covers a wide range of fields in information soft/hardware technology and with a heavy emphasis on Internet applications. Courses include four main domains: communication network, multimedia, embedded systems design, and mobile computing. The department offers four degree programs: four-year full-time and continuing education programs for the Bachelor of Science (BS), as well as full-time and on-job programs for the Master of Science (MS).
